1. Core Principle: Your Data Belongs to You
UMAY does not directly request or store any personal information from its users. Your favorites, visited places, and custom travel lists are stored exclusively on your own device, in your browser's local storage (localStorage). Except for the anonymous technical logs retained as standard by our hosting infrastructure — described below in Section 3 — no data is transmitted to any server.
2. What Is Stored in the Browser?
UMAY stores the following data only in your browser's localStorage: historical sites you have added to favorites, places you have marked as visited, and custom travel lists you have created. This data is automatically deleted when you clear your browser cache or reset your browser's localStorage. There is no account, password, or registration form — no personally identifying information is ever requested.
3. What Is Sent to a Server?
No user-specific data is transmitted to any server. However, as is standard for all websites, the Vercel infrastructure that hosts this platform may retain standard access logs. These logs contain anonymous technical data such as the URL of the page visited, browser type, and approximate geographic region. This data is processed under Vercel's own privacy policy and is not used by UMAY to identify individual users.
Additionally, anonymous page-view statistics may be collected via Vercel Analytics. This data is processed in aggregate and anonymized form; it cannot be linked to any individual user and is used solely to understand general usage patterns of the platform. This platform does not conduct any personal data processing activity within the meaning of Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (KVKK); the technical data collected is anonymous and aggregate in nature.
4. Cookie Usage
UMAY does not use any cookies for advertising, tracking, or profiling purposes. A session-based preference record may be created to retain your language preference during a browser session; this data is deleted when the browser is closed and does not constitute personal data.
5. Deleting Your Data
You can delete your favorites, visited places, and list data at any time via your browser's Developer Tools → Application → Local Storage. No external deletion request is needed — this data exists only on your device.
