UMAY is an independent platform developed to make the historical, cultural, and touristic landmarks within the Republic of Turkey accessible through an interactive digital map. The platform is not affiliated with any commercial entity or government body; it is an individual initiative offered free of charge in the public interest.
2. Our Data Sources
The information presented on this platform is compiled from official publications issued by institutions affiliated with the Republic of Turkey's Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the UNESCO World Heritage List, academic publications, and publicly available encyclopedic sources, primarily Wikipedia. Wherever possible, a direct link to the original source is provided for each entry.
3. Verification Process
Every entry added to our system is reviewed against its corresponding source prior to publication. The "Last Verified" date displayed on each entry indicates when that information was most recently reviewed by our team. The absence of this date indicates that the entry has not yet completed our verification process.
Given the nature of historical and cultural information, discrepancies or outdated details may occasionally arise between sources. Accordingly, the absolute and final accuracy of the information presented cannot be guaranteed, and users are advised to consult the relevant official institutions directly before making critical decisions, including official transactions or visit planning.
4. Policy on Missing Information
Where reliable sourcing for specific details (such as construction date, architectural attribution, or current visiting conditions) could not be established, the corresponding field is left blank. Under no circumstances does this platform present estimated or assumed information as verified fact.
5. Correction and Reporting Mechanism
Users who identify inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated information on any page may report it to us via the "Report Issue" function available on that page. All submissions received are reviewed, and confirmed corrections are reflected in the system following our standard verification process.
6. Limitation of Liability
UMAY is an informational platform that compiles third-party sourced content in good faith.
